Transferring After Graduation
South Piedmont has made it easier for graduates to transfer to 4-year universities by forming agreements that allow you to seamlessly transfer credits and continue your education. Below are eligibility requirements for our current agreements.

Degrees accepted: AA, AS, AE, AFA
Declare prior to earning 15 credits from South Piedmont.
Intend to pursue a majored offered at UNC Charlotte, with the exception of architecture, fine arts or performing arts, graphic design and nursing.
Appalachian State University

Degrees accepted: AA, AS, and AAS
SPCC graduates with a 2.25 GPA or higher
SPCC students must take ACA 122 and get a grade of C or higher
SPCC students must commit to a full-time status and apply to Aspire before their last 2 semesters at SPCC

East Carolina University

Degrees accepted: AA, AS, AFA, AE, AAS-Early Childhood, AND, AAS 鈥� Industrial Technology, AAS 鈥� Construction Management
All SPCC graduates with a 2.5 GPA or higher
Waived application fee, financial and academic advising, discounted athletic tickets, fitness center pass, access to programming and Pirate Promise Days
Students must declare their intention in their first year of college.
Mars Hill University
鈥淢ountain Lion Promise Program鈥�
Guarantees South Piedmont graduates admission to Mars Hill University if they meet the following requirements:
- Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 at South Piedmont.
- Students must earn an associate degree from South Piedmont in a college transfer program or in an applied program with an existing articulation agreement.
- Students must enroll at Mars Hill within one academic year of graduating from South Piedmont.
Also guarantees graduates of South Piedmont鈥檚 Human Services Technology program admission to Mars Hill鈥檚 Bachelor of Social Work program.
North Carolina A&T

Degrees accepted: AA, AS and AAS with current bilateral agreements
All SPCC graduates with a 2.0 GPA or higher with a C or better on all transferable coursework
Students must enter the program before completing 30 credits at SPCC

Required advising sessions, guest passes/student ID, access to athletic events, other benefits upon completion of 30 credits at SPCC
Winston-Salem State University
Degrees accepted: AA, AS, AAS on a case-by-case basis
SPCC graduates with a 2.0 GPA or higher
Declare intentions before completing 40 credits at SPCC

After completion of 44 credits of general education at SPCC, students may enroll in up to 12 credits at WSSU at SPCC tuition rates
